Congresswoman Sue Myrick’s Moderate Muslims Summit

WORDE Attends Second Annual Moderate Muslims Summit

US Congressional Representative Sue Myrick (R-NC, 9th District) invited WORDE President, Hedieh Mirahmadi to attend the Second Moderate Muslims Summit on September 24, 2010 on the Capitol Hill.

The first summit, held on July 20, 2009, introduced Muslim leaders to US Agencies. This summit introduced a diverse group of Muslim-Americans to Members of Congress. Discussions with policymakers covered a number of contemporary policy issues including ways to combat extremism in the American Muslim community.

Congresswoman Myrick heads the bipartisan Anti-Terrorism Caucus, an avenue where experts provide presentations regarding terrorism and jihadist ideology. For several years, WORDE has worked with the Congresswoman’s office to shape policies that address threats of Islamism.
