On September 17, 2011, WORDE President Hedieh Mirahmadi spoke at the Harvard Law School-Brookings Project on Law and Security conference “Law, Security & Liberty After 9/11: Looking to the Future” at Harvard Law School’s Wasserstein Hall in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
Among the nearly 30 participants were John O. Brennan, Deputy National Security Advisor for Homeland Security and Counterterrorism, and Assistant to the President along with Charlie Savage, Reporter for the New York Times and 2007 Pulitzer Prize recipient.
The conference addressed questions of how we apply the lessons September 11 and the decade that followed it to deal with threats and risks going forward—how we simultaneously manage vulnerabilities and remain loyal to our social and political values, and how we both lead the world and remain a member of the international community.
