Understanding the Socio-Political Dynamics of Pakistan

WORDE hosted a high level Pakistani delegation, which included a current Federal Minister, and convened a weeklong series of meetings with US policymakers in Washington DC. The delegates met with officials at the US Departments of State, Defense, and USAID, as well as with lawmakers on Capitol Hill, think tanks, community groups and NGO’s to provide practical insights into the culture, history and hierarchy of sociopolitical groups in Pakistan. The delegates explained how vast regions of the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Province (formally the NWFP) and FATA are now overrun with extremists and how their growing influence runs contrary to centuries of traditional culture in the area.

About Our Programs

WORDE specialists have built networks around the world to develop, expand, and sustain both public and private policy initiatives.

WORDE has mobilized local community leaders to invest in community centers that rehabilitate young adults who were either drawn to violent religious movements or a life of crime and drugs.

WORDE programs include intensive de-radicalization theological courses and workshops on classical Islam and spirituality.

WORDE initiatives also employ motivational sacred movement sessions that use uplifting, inspirational songs and instruments to induce a state of well being. Through the powerful combination of religious retraining and sacred music, we have found both young men and women are brought back to the mainstream of society, whereby they pursue positive life choices.

WORDE Specialists lend their expertise to these programs in a wide variety of ways including theological and academic training, fundraising, IT support, legal and structural administrative assistance, and liberal arts and culture expertise.
